Today's movie #4

This movie is about a closed mental institution. It’s a fairly serious story and the tragic ending made me feel pretty sad. But I still like this so much.

The cut scenes are recoded as the DVD extra features. If you didn’t understand about the whole story at all, you would find the answer by watching the cut scenes.

Essay 2

My favorite movie

Today, I am going to write about a movie which I’ve watched many many times. The title is “Dog day afternoon”.
Its story is about two rubbers who attacked a bank. Sonny, the one of rubbers, is a restless man. He often gets angry for some little things and likes to blame his wife all times. Sonny’s robbery company who named Sal is also a person in question. Sal is calm usually, but as he feels nervous, he will shout very loudly and make people around him scary. There are also some characters (not many) in the film and each of them has a strong personality.
The screenplay was written based on a real incident which happened on early seventies. The incident was very serious one, but in this movie, it was showed like a black unmoor comedy. Even if one character will be killed in the end, I believe that you will remember the funny scenes clearly more than the murder scene. Also, you can find a lot of seventies cultures in this movie, like people’s fashion and the then popular music. When you want to know about seventies culture, this movie will make sense to you because it is not only a film as a popular entertainment.

My Self Introduction

Hello, everybody. My name is Hiroaki. The family name is Higashikata which is a little strange one in our country. And now, I am going to introduce myself. I came from Japan as you know, but I was not raised in the country for a reason. Today, I live with my parents in Kyusyu prefecture. I am the only child and always wanted a brother or a sister who is almost same age to me when I was a kid. I am a student of a university named Kumamoto Gakuen University. I belong to the foreign language department, so my class mates and I study English and some other languages at there.
Now I am going to tell you something about my hobbies. I often spent my free times watching movies. Not only resent movies but also older movies, just like “Taxi Driver”, “Shining” and “Terms of Endearment”. I love Jack Nicholson’s movies, because all of them are really great. I also have a number of CDs. Frank Sinatra, Barry Manilow, Kenny Rogers and The New Edition, The Blues Brothers and so many ’60 and ’70s musicians. My favorite song is “Jolene” which was sung by Dolly Parton and it’s a pretty old one.
When I was a high school student, I used to drawing pictures because I was belonging to an Art Club. I have learned a lot of things at there. Now I still love to drawing.
At the end, I really hope that we could share a good time these couple weeks. My English skills are very poor, but I will do my best to improve them to have great conversation with you. Thank you.
