"Mean Street"(1973)
I rent this video at TSUTAYA. The story is about five men who live in Little Italy, New York. Charlie, who works for his uncle, is a closest friend of Johnny. He is going to take over his uncle's business very soon. One day, uncle asked Charlie to leave away from Johnny because of Johnny's wicked personality. But he denied his uncle’s advice because he believes that Johnny will not survive in this immoral town without Charlie’s supports. Now, Charlie, the girlfriend and Johnny decided to leave from Little Italy and start a new life somewhere. However, all of three were shooting by a man who is Johnny’s enemy.
This is a kind of sad story, I think. But the acting of Harvey Keitel, who played Charlie, was just great. I won’t forget his angrily face when Johnny made the girlfriend faint. Mr. Keitel also was appearing on a fantastic movie called “Taxi Driver” with Robert De Niro. That is worth to watching. If you got time and little money, you should rent them. I believe that you would like it.
